Evacuee, Alan Purdie with his hosts Mr Cole, Peter and Ken Cole and Thea. Alan came to Stradbroke in 1940 at the age of 5 and stayed with The Coles at their mill in Mill Lane. He asked for and was given a pet lamb called Larry which he walked on a lead into Stradbroke until it became too big.

'Una Meier, the daughter of Ethel and Douglas Nunn came to the flower show last week and lent Roy some photos for copying. She had seen the 24 jun exhibition and wanted us to have some pictures of her (half) brother for the records.
