Title
Siah Potter a Suffolk Character
Description
Siah Potter died in 1962 at the age of 71. Frank Ward wrote of him ‘He was something more than just a picturesque countryman, the city dweller’s idealized view of a rustic. . . . a handsome nose, twinkling piercing eyes and a mouth which constantly gripped a stained stump of a clay pipe, combined to give an immediate impression of integrity, almost as though he was on a political platform’
Jack Warne said of him,
"Siah Potter wonderful character suits with rows of stiching. jack and friends would cycle out miles for a drink but once Siah had a few beers he always refused to get on his bike. Rather than leave him they all would walk back with him."
