In Memory of Private Arthur Clarence Rutter - WW1

Description

In memory of Private Arthur Clarence Rutter of 13th Btn. Essex Regiment who died on the 14th March 1917. Private Rutter was the son of Lucy Rutter and the late William Rutter.

Arthur was born in 1890 and registered as Clarence Arthur Rutter. He was the brother to 18 siblings of whom one had pre-deceased him. He was the son of the village baker and was a journeyman baker himself before enlisting to fight in the great war.


*Remembered with Honour*

On 5th October 2014 students from Stradbroke High School visited Thiepval and placed a British Legion cross at the memorial in his memory.
