In Memory of Corporal James Edwin Nunn WW1

The following Verse Corporal James Nunn family chose for his remembrance card. The last 2 lines are those chosen for his gravestone:-

No loved ones stood around him to bid a last farewell,

No words of comfort could he leave to those he loved so well.

We little thought his time so short in this world to remain

Or thought when from his home he went,
he would never return again.

We think of him in silence

And his name we oft recall,

But there is nothing left to comfort us,

But his photo on the wall.

Our sorrow is great, our loss hard to bear,

Angels will tend you dear James with care,

He was one of the best that God could lend

A loving son and brother, a faithful friend.
